Deep in the middle of a London winter at LG we all suffer the winter blues an effect of the shortened days and long nights. Just imagine what it would be like to live in a place where there is no sun for 11 weeks! As part of research into the effect of living in perpetual darkness Philips have produced this great short film where they talk to residents of Svalbard the most northern town in the world about what life is like during these dark times. Its just a small glimpse into the lives of these people but it really brings home how lack of sun and daylight totally affects the way you work, play and sleep. The film also brings home the importance of what lighting designers and lighting manufacturers do and how their work impacts on the general health and well being of the population.
